PART TWO
Full Name: (Captain) Breacan Sanchez.
Date of Birth and/or Age: 30.
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual.
Ethnic Background: British and Mexican.
Occupation: Hand for hire. Drifter.
Languages: French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
Family:
Mother: Charlotte Anne Sanchez (Nee Mallory). (Deceased).
Father: Jose Aguilar Ruiz Sanchez. (Deceased).
Siblings: None.
Marriage status: Widower.
Wife: Edyth Standish.(Deceased).
Current Residence: The town's boarding house, renting a room.
Appearance: Breacan stands tall at 6’2”. He has a lean, muscular build created from working on ranches and as a deckhand.
His hair is dark brown, cropped neatly and he often sports a beard. He has blue eyes, which often are unreadable, when emotion does show everything shows and this can sometimes be a disadvantage in the wrong circumstances.
While he can dress neat, he usually appears unkempt in keeping with the work he does. He often judges the time for a need of a bath, by how many people cross the street before they reach him.
If he has to put on a dress suit, he can do so and wear it well. He is at home in high society and knows the proper etiquette in such company. This occasionally will come as a surprise as he scrubs up pretty well when putting on airs.
Personality:. In the main he is gentle, even tempered, good natured, modest and slow to anger. He dislikes quarreling and avoids creating ill feelings. A pessimistic nature is foreign to him and he above all remains pragmatic and optimistic. Though charming and verbose, he is closed emotionally which can make it difficult for others to relate to him and forge close contacts.
Positive traits: He is dependable, steadfast, prudent, firm and unshaken in the face of difficulties. He often welcomes challenges and will not be diverted from his purpose. He expresses himself with reason, moderation and sometimes a dry humor does appear, when it does appear it is completely unexpected.
Negative traits His vices often appear in extremes, if he is provoked, he can explode into violent outbursts of ferocious anger which he seems to lose all self-control. There is a tendency for excessive detachment and an inclination to retreat from life and society. He also can be extremely dogmatic in his opinions. Over all there are no half measures with his negative qualities, it is an all or nothing approach.
Special Skills/Weapons Used: Extremely good memory, never forgets, names, faces, places. Adept with pistols, however his expertise is with rifles and often carries one. He is very agile and dangerous with working stock whips or trick roping and can take people by surprise if he uses one as a weapon.
Weaknesses: Often too serious minded, stubborn and an inability to be able to express himself emotionally. He can sometimes be taken advantage of if he is loyal, though his loyalty is not blind. There are times when he can be too aggressive and sure of himself, this can rub a lot of people up the wrong way unintentionally.
He has trouble relating to children, couch-drapers, and women.
He isn’t exactly one to cook—Burn, mutilate and create questionable, edible foods, yes---cook presentable food? No. This means, he loves really good cooked meals, and can be bribed with one if the mood suits him.
History
Breacan Sanchez is the adopted child of two missionary parents.
Charlotte Mallory was a well to do Londoner, a daughter of a laywer and aristocratic mother who both were open minded, liberal and give their daughter the best education a woman could have. Charlotte was very headstrong, extremely intelligent woman and went into study as a medical doctor. She passed in a time when it was very difficult for women to be taken seriously as a doctor. Once she had her degree she left for the States and went to work in the poorest areas, she found herself in Mexico, learning the language and struggling with the customs. It was there she found her husband: Jose Aguilar Ruiz Sanchez, former firey pastor. They married despite the opposition of racial prejudice. Eventually they both became missionaries traveling, where possible, to alleviate suffering and disease. They failed to have any of their own children, however, they eventually managed to adopt a son and gave him the best care possible.
The son became a well educated man, versed in different cultures, and people. He developed a love of the sea, traveling and became a sailor. He left the sea to marry a woman he had fallen in love with, however, the woman died. Heartbroken he drifted from ship to ship, place to place, town to town, trying to get his life back into order. Eventually he arrived in New Shelby, hoping it would be the place to allow him to move forward.
